Type 1 diabetes develops very quickly, and it only takes a few weeks for the results to become very obvious. Type 2 diabetes develops slowly and less intensely. Some people may not even notice the symptoms at all.

The symptoms of both types of diabetes are:

• Increased thirst
• Going to the toilet a lot- especially at night
• Extreme fatigue.
• Weight loss, even when you’re not trying to lose weight
• Genital itching and/or reoccurring thrush
• Blurry vision

The symptoms can be quickly relieved once the diabetes is treated. Early treatment will also lessen the chances of developing serious health problems.
